Villa di Castiglioni

The 17th Century Villa di Castiglioni stands proudly amid the rolling hills surrounding  the village of Montespertoli at the heart of the Chianti wine region. The ancient Tenuta di Castiglioni which the villa presides is an aristocratic family estate dating as far back as the year 1100. That same Florentine family still owns the property today and visits it regularly during retreats from central Florence to the countryside. The Villa is therefore unique in its kind: a contemporary family home which has hosted the rural retreats of several generations opens its doors and shares its privacy with a privileged set of visitors.
The interiors are characterised by high ceilings, vast sitting rooms, a grand stairwell and garden-facing sleeping quarters.
Two of the five suites are located on the ground floor, within access to the outdoor dining terrace and gardens, and the remaining three are upstairs with open views over the hills and fields of Chianti. Every room is washed daily in sunlight which enters from the structure's many glass doors and windows. Paintings, prints and family portraits adorn the walls and each room and bedroom follows a particular colour scheme. The ensuite bathrooms were restored in 2019 and a new elevator now joins the two storeys.
Castiglioni has its own cleaning and kitchen staff who will happily accompany guests at the Villa throughout their stay.
